STORAGE

Tips for storage

There are plenty of boxes, containers, chests, cabinets, and smart storage systems available. All of these can help you store your belongings and keep things organized. However, if you just put things randomly in boxes and containers, it can quickly become chaotic. With our tips, you can make the most out of your storage space. To maximize your storage space, it’s important to create a system and know what’s in each box.

Divide drawers and cabinets into smaller compartments

It’s often wise to divide large drawers, shelves, and cabinets into smaller sections. A large surface or drawer can quickly become messy and disorganized. By dividing the shelf or drawer into smaller compartments, it becomes easier to maintain order. Use boxes or dividers to create these smaller spaces. Cabinet shelves are a place where it can be difficult to utilize the space efficiently. By using boxes or baskets that you can easily pull out, you can optimize the vertical space better.

Label everything

Once you have stored items in boxes, jars, containers, etc., it’s important to label them. This helps both you and others maintain a tidy storage space. You can design labels and bottle labels at Ikast Etikett. Here, you can choose the size and shape according to your preference. This makes it very flexible, ensuring that the labels fit perfectly with your home. You can also easily label cabinets and shelves, for example, with items like T-shirts, socks, pants, etc.

You can also consider using name labels for your family’s clothes. This makes it much easier to put clothes away. Personally, I am a big fan of using iron-on labels for socks. It makes it SO easy to “pair” the kids’ socks, and I never have any doubts about where to put them away.

Do you no longer use something?

Even if you have a good storage system, remember to continuously sort through your belongings. A tip for sorting through your wardrobe is to hang all your clothes with the hangers facing the opposite direction than usual. The clothes you then wear and wash, you can hang back up as usual. After a month, you can see which items are still hanging the opposite way and consider if it’s because you no longer use those clothes.

Store away items not currently in use

Some of the things we have in our homes are only suitable for certain seasons. Especially clothes and footwear that are best for specific times of the year. Snowsuits, sandals, boots, and shorts can quickly take up a lot of space in your wardrobe or hallway.

Therefore, it can be a good idea to pack away things that your family isn’t currently using. Make sure the items you store are clean and in good condition. It’s important to clearly label what’s in each box, so you don’t have to go through many boxes to find what you need. Use round stickers to label your storage boxes.
